7 – Seven (Sev-En)
In maritime terminology, 7 or Seven (Sev-En) refers to the International Code of Signals flag representing the letter “7” in the phonetic alphabet. This flag is used to communicate messages and information between vessels or between a vessel and shore using a system of flags.

Nautical or signal flags are used at sea to convey long-range messages. Only black, blue, red, white and yellow are used because these are the only colours readily distinguished at sea. Many different coding schemes have been used, but the International Code is the most common.
